Actress Rosamund Pike is a villain who loves

It was her role as her Bond girl that made Rosamund Pike famous.

she which until then was limited to roles in television series of her country. Together with Pierce Brosnan and Halle Berry, she achieved that in Die Another Day (Another day to die, 2002) her face remains in the minds of the spectators by giving life to the elegant villain Miranda Frost; She was then seen in Pride and Prejudice (2005), and it was definitely her role as Amy in Gone Girl (2014) for which she was taken into account the most. There, her role is that of a wife (of Ben Affleck) who leads the viewer to hate or adore her because of her performance. Since then, the beautiful English actress has been nominated for best actress in various awards, including the Oscar, the Golden Globe, the Bafta.

Her roles have been evolving, so much so that Netflix recruited her to be in charge of giving life to Marla in Neglect, I take care of you (I Care a Lot, 2020), a performance that deservedly earned her the Golden Globe in the recent installment .

The dark comedy “is a life-and-death thriller. I had to take a tongue-in-cheek and satirical tone for this film, but mostly I did it because I wanted to make viewers aware of the issue of elder abuse," said Pike.

The fact is that Marla found a business, one that allows her to lead a millionaire life. She is a court-appointed professional guardian for dozens of seniors whose assets she seizes and leaves them with nothing. Marla is a con artist and she does it well, so much so that her cunning leads her to be cynical and play the laws in her favor.

Pike is the daughter of musicians. She was born in London, in 1979. She became known as a theatrical actress enrolled in the National Youth Theater until in 2002, at the age of 23, she was incorporated as a Bond girl. She has two sons and her partner is Robie Uniacke, a British businessman and research mathematician.

In Don't worry, I'll take care of you, the smell of sulfur emanating from Rosamund's performance is evident. It seems that Pike puts everything on a spit of pure evil, lighting up the screen with his sociopathic haircut, shadows and fashionable outfits. Her until… yes, until she meets the wrong old lady (Dianne Wiest) and her life is turned upside down so much that even her wickedness is put to the violent test.

In some countries, elder abuse and the fear of dementia are growth industries, and the J. Blakeson-directed film tackles the subject more painfully because Marla's greed knows no bounds. She wants it all, no matter what. She bribes doctors to give false dementia diagnoses to wealthy elderly patients without relatives, in certain cases. "The most interesting villains are the ones who can act, because it's very unsettling when someone you know to be ruthless suddenly pulls off a very convincing act that seems reasonable and sweet and quite personable, and that's what Marla does."

Rosamund has revealed about toeing the line between heroism and villainy on screen: “If you want a character who is bad, they have to stay bad. They can't suddenly ask for your empathy on top of asking for your attention on a fun and funky ride."

An Emmy winner, she will return to television for her next projects and make her debut as a producer. She says, “It's a real interest in other things. I'm looking for other books and most, strangely enough, are not vehicles for me. It's just a love for literature, which is another of my passions and I guess an opportunity to get involved in stories that I would never otherwise be."

On Don't Care, I'll Care for You, Pike comments: "That's not a vehicle or anything for me, it's not a book (which the film is based on) that I fell in love with and wanted to produce because I thought: this is great for me. It's just a story that, fundamentally, I believed needed to have a life on screen with some very bright minds."

Rosamund is currently filming and producing The Wheel of Life for Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television in Prague. "Once again, it's another genre that I don't know (fantasy) and I felt like an exciting opportunity and I thought: if I'm going to be here for a long time, then I want to get involved in a very deep way," he said, referring to the television adaptation of the saga of high fantasy novels written by American author James Oliver Rigney Jr.

Pike interprets like no other actress the role of her as her evil. She has almost all the requirements for the profile of a nice and likeable character who would never be suspected of having nefarious intentions. She won't be fooled by her blue eyes, blonde hair and cute smile.
