Sandra Bullock almost played Neo AND Trinity in The Matrix.
1. Sandra Bullock was considered to play Neo in The Matrix before Keanu Reeves was cast, as the production was struggling to find the right actor. She was also considered to play Trinity, and she regrets not taking the part for her, but in the end she loved the pairing Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss made up.
2. And as for the roles she regrets taking, she thinks Speed 2: Cruise Control went terribly wrong. Roger Ebert made a recurrent joke that he enjoyed the film more than Bullock.
3. Sir Alec Guinness regrets playing Obi-Wan Kenobi in the original Star Wars trilogy. He called the dialogue "pitiful."
In fact, in his autobiography he tells a story in which a fan asked for his autograph and told Guinness that he had seen Star Wars more than 100 times. Guinness says he gave her the autograph on the condition that the fan never see the movie again.
4. Sir Christopher Lee was considered for the role of Dr. Rumack in Airplane! but he rejected it. The role went to Leslie Nielsen, and Lee, who loves comedies, said that not taking it is his biggest regret.
5. Eddie Murphy says he feels "like an idiot" every time he watches Who Framed Roger Rabbit? because he turned down the role of Eddie Valiant (which went to Bob Hoskins).
6. Billy Crystal was originally going to be the voice of Buzz Lightyear. He regrets turning down the role so much, which is a big part of why he ended up playing Mike Wazowski.
At first, Crystal was fine with turning down the role because he felt his voice wasn't right for Buzz, and Tim Allen's was. But his bitterness came later, when he saw test shots of his dialogue from When Harry Met Sally overlaid on Buzz animation and thought, "You know what? I was wrong."
7. The only movie Ben Affleck regrets making is Daredevil.
8. Sylvester Stallone says Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot is the worst movie he's ever done. "If you want someone to confess to a murder, just put them through that movie," he has said. "They confess to anything in 15 minutes."
In a masterful move, Arnold Schwarzenegger revealed that he tempted Stallone to do the film because of his rivalry at the time. Schwarzenegger noted how bad the script was, and feigned interest to trick Stallone into accepting it.
