10 Major TV and Movie Roles Jennifer Aniston Turned Down

Jennifer Aniston is one of the most successful actresses of all time, having thrived on both television and movies.

Jennifer Aniston is one of the most successful actresses of all time, having thrived on both television and movies. Having been a part of one of the best TV shows of all time with Friends, her career has only skyrocketed since then.

Whether it's comedic movies like Go With It or Horrible Bosses, or more serious roles like her performance in Cake, Jennifer Aniston has proven her versatility throughout her career. However, although she has been involved in many projects throughout her career, there have been times when Jennifer has turned down roles. Whether due to commitments to other parties or for other reasons, these are some of the roles that she has rejected throughout her career.

The Comedian (2016)

The Comedian was a comedy film that focused on a comedian who was at the end of his career trying to reinvent himself. He saw the character end up doing community service where he would meet the character of Harmony, who was originally meant to be played by Jennifer Aniston.

She was attached to the role and she was expected to be a part of the film. However, scheduling conflicts meant that the actress ended up having to drop out of the film, with Leslie Mann ending up replacing her.

Pixels (2015)

The film Pixels was one that saw an all-star cast with the likes of Adam Sandler and Peter Dinklage sharing the screen, and Jennifer Aniston was originally cast in the lead role of Violet Van Patten. However, she ended up turning down the role due to scheduling conflicts.

Instead, the role would end up being played by Michelle Monaghan. The film wasn't particularly well received, with a 17% rating on Rotten Tomatoes summarizing how people felt about it.

A Mighty Heart (2007)

The situation was complex for Jennifer Aniston with the project, A Powerful Heart. She was initially involved in the film, but ended up taking a step back, apparently due to the rift between her and Brad Pitt, who was also part of the project.

Initially, they worked with her production company to get the rights to the story, but only Pitt continued to work on the project. The fact that Brad Pitt's next partner, Angelina Jolie, ended up with the lead role only added to the drama surrounding this particular role in the film.

Titanic(1997)

One role that Jennifer Aniston was ready for but ultimately didn't get was the lead in Titanic. The role of Rose was ultimately played perfectly by Kate Winslet, however Jennifer Aniston was heavily considered to take on the role.

It would have been a serious role for her, which is normally something she hasn't done too much of in her career, tending to lean more towards the comedic aspects of the movie world. However, Titanic was an epic story, which is why she was undoubtedly intrigued by the role.

NCIS (2003-)

One TV role Jennifer Aniston was up for was NCIS, which would have been a great role for her. However, even though things were worked out for her to join the show, scheduling issues ended up preventing that from happening.

Aniston was still working on Friends at the time, and for her to have been involved with NCIS, the show would have had to delay filming. Since that was not possible for the entire series, the two parties had to go ahead with new plans.
