Sydney Sweeney's message to Dakota Johnson

The 'Euphoria' actress confesses that she watched 'Fifty Shades of Grey' against her parents' wishes.

Sydney Sweeney has every reason to be happy on the set of Madame Web every morning. The Euphoria and The White Lotus actress makes her debut in the superhero genre in this film set within Sony Pictures' Spider-Man Universe, working alongside a very special actress for her: Dakota Johnson, the film's protagonist in the role of Madame Web .

On the red carpet of the LACMA Art + Film gala in Los Angeles, Sweeney has confessed that at first she was really nervous about sharing the screen with Johnson, of whom she had been a fan for several years. "She was on edge," she told Variety. "I have to confess that when I was in high school I snuck into the theater to see Fifty Shades of Grey. My parents wouldn't let me see it, but I did."

"I'm a huge fan [of Dakota Johnson]. She's hot," says Sydney Sweeney. When the reporter asks her if she has said the latter to her partner, the actress responds by laughing and turning to the camera. "No, but Dakota: you are very hot and I love working with you."

Madame Web is scheduled to hit theaters on February 16, 2024. Directed by S. J. Clarkson (Jessica Jones, The Defenders, Succession), the film stars Dakota Johnson in the title role as Cassandra, while the role of Sydney Sweeney is still being kept under wraps within the script written by Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama.
