In addition to Alec's eldest son, Ireland Baldwin, whom he shares with his ex-wife Kim Basinger, the actor is the father of Carmen, Rafael, Leonardo, Romeo, Eduardo and Maria Lucia, just over a year old. The Baldwins have weathered a lot of controversy in recent months. There was the reveal that Hilaria, despite her Spanish accent, is actually from New England and has apparently only been pretending to be from Spain. Taking to his Instagram, Alec Baldwin has responded to critics who want to know why he and his wife Hilaria Baldwin keep having so many babies. The actor posted a sweet 30-second video of his little daughter Maria de él, who he is seen giggling on the floor and clutching the camera. "People ask why," Baldwin wrote in the caption of the photo. "This is why." He added: "Being a parent is the ultimate journey."
