Bradley Cooper spoke about a traumatic experience in New York when in 2019 they tried to attack him on the subway in broad daylight; At first, he thought that he was a fan who wanted to ask him for a selfie.
Bradley Cooper's fans have shared photos of him riding the New York subway on many occasions, and whenever they ask him why a Hollywood star like him doesn't use a car with a private chauffeur, he always answers that this form of transportation Public is the most efficient method of getting around the city, not to mention the cheapest.
However, a couple of years ago the actor had a scare that would have ensured that anyone else would never set foot in a wagon again.
During a new interview, Cooper opened up about a traumatic experience on one of the subway trains where he was held at knifepoint in October 2019 as he was on his way to pick up his daughter, Lea. A terrifying experience.
Actually, Bradley admits that it was partly his fault because he had become "too confident" and went everywhere listening to music, so the first thing he thought when he saw a stranger approaching was that he wanted to take a picture with him.
“He used to walk around New York City all the time with these headphones on. I was on the subway at 11:45 to pick up Lea in the center of the Russian school and they held me at knifepoint," he began by recounting his colleague Dax Shepard on his podcast 'Armchair Expert'.
The “A Star Is Born” lead continued, “My guard was down. I felt someone approaching. I thought, 'Oh, they want to take a picture or something,' but I looked down and saw a knife," he explained.
His reaction then was more like an action movie than real life: he instinctively ran towards the station exit and hid to try to surprise his assailant.
“He ran past me. I was able to take a photo of it. Then I chased him down the stairs. He ran off down Seventh Avenue. I took two more pictures of him, ”he recounted.
Bradley Cooper did not take long to stop a police car that crossed the street to explain what had happened to him and share the images that he had on his phone.
To his surprise, the officers kept asking him if he was sure he hadn't been stabbed because, with the adrenaline rush of the moment, he could be injured and not realize it.
"I was talking to them and one kept saying, 'Did you get stabbed?' I was like: 'No, no'. Then he told me: 'Check if you were stabbed.' What happens is that they stab people and they are left in a state of shock,” he commented.
Once he confirmed that he was unharmed, he returned to the subway and picked up his daughter: “I looked to see if he was right. And then I went back to the subway and picked up my daughter. He was pretty crazy, ”he concluded.
Cooper shares 4-year-old Lea with his ex, model Irina Shayk. The two split in 2019 after a four-year relationship, but remain close over their little girl.
