Hugh Jackman tests negative in two biopsies due to the risk of skin cancer

Good news for the actor's fans, who accompany him during his fight against possible skin cancer.

Australian actor Hugh Jackman announced Thursday that he had tested negative in the two biopsies he underwent due to the risk of developing basal cells, a form of skin cancer that has haunted him for years.

"Thank you all for the love. Please, remember to put on sunscreen cream -regardless of the season-", the 54-year-old actor, who is preparing to play the role of the actor again, said in a message on Instagram Wolverine, a character from the film saga "X-Men", in the film Deadpool 3.

Jackman said in a video Tuesday of himself wearing a small pad on his nose that he had undergone two biopsies after his doctor detected small dots that "may or may not" be basal cell carcinomas.

Usually appearing as a slightly clear growth on the head or neck and thought to be caused by prolonged exposure to ultraviolet light, this cancer is less likely to spread than melanoma.

Since 2013, Jackman has undergone six surgeries to remove basal cell carcinomas.

Australia is the country in the world where its population registers the highest number of skin cancers, and, according to the NGO Skin Check Champions, two out of three people in the country present this type of pathology.
