James Cameron believes Kate Winslet was 'traumatized' after filming Titanic

Winslet once stated that she did not have the best experience filming Titanic due to the director's temper.

James Cameron has managed to be one of the most successful directors in contemporary Hollywood. With both Titanic and Avatar, the director managed to break box office records and go down in the history of entertainment cinema. However, behind the scenes, not everything is rosy, or at least that's what the actors and actresses who worked with him have commented.

James Cameron believes Kate Winslet was 'traumatized' after filming Titanic

One of the actresses who spoke of Cameron's temperament was Kate Winslet, who was under his command on Titanic when he was 20 years old. The truth is that the filming of the catastrophe film was highly demanding and chaotic and in large part, it was due to the director's way of working. Therefore, the actress revealed: "They would have to pay me a lot of money to work with Jim again."

From that moment on, rumors spread about the bad relationship that existed between the director and the actress, although they later denied it. In 2007, Cameron explained his views on the allegations: "I'm demanding and demanding of my team. As for being a bit of a dictator, I think there's an element of that when you have to deal with thousands of extras and huge logistics and also keep to safe people. I think you have to have a strict methodology when dealing with a lot of people."

25 years after the premiere of Titanic, Cameron, and Winslet have returned to work together in Avatar: The Way of the Water, which confirms that Kate's sayings were not entirely literal or exhaustive. Regarding what happened on the set of the remembered film, Cameron recently spoke to Radio Times and declared (via El País): "Kate left Titanic a bit traumatized by the scale of production and by her responsibility within it. We have both been anxious to work together again and see where we are in our lives and careers."
