The actress indicated that one of the last projects she worked on led her to consider leaving her career
Jennifer Aniston is always active in the entertainment industry, and even more so today thanks to her praised role in the series "The Morning Show", for which she was nominated for an Emmy. However, a project leading up to the Apple TV+ series made him seriously consider giving up acting.
During an appearance on the "SmartLess" podcast, hosted by actors Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes, and Will Arnett, the former "Friends" revealed that a job she did a few years ago made her wonder if she wanted to continue practicing the profession.
“In the last two years, something that has never happened before has crossed my mind,” said the star, clarifying that the project that made her wonder took place before her role in “The Morning Show,” for which she also won a SAG Award earlier this year.
“It was after a job that I finished and I thought: ‘Wow, that was it … it sucked the life out of me. And I don't know if this is what I'm interested in,'" Aniston, 51, recalled. She indicated in turn that the project, which kept her for three months, was "unprepared" and it an unfinished script: "We have all been part of one like this, you always say: 'Never again! '". She didn't specify which production it was exactly, but from the dates, it could have been "The Yellow Birds," "Dumplin'" or "Murder Mystery."
Even though she fantasized about the idea of leaving everything, more interesting projects soon arrived that led her to reverse that feeling and continue practicing the profession that she loves so much.
Aniston also said that have actually gone ahead with her idea of leaving everything, she had already prepared a "plan b" to which she would dedicate herself for the rest of her days. "Interior design, probably," she said. "I love it. It's my happy place, it's a really happy place for me." Fortunately for her fans, however, Aniston is still in front of the cameras.
When reviewing her professional life, "Jen" also talked about the projects that she has enjoyed the most. Her “number one” work is “Friends”: “It's a no-brainer,” she said. In the second place, she chose “A Fake Wife,” her 2011 comedy with Adam Sandler. “I've always liked filming with Sandler. It was super fun. We've known each other since we were 19 years old,” she said of her co-star, who she also worked with on “Murder Mystery” last year. She also fondly recalled doing the drama “Cake.” ” in 2014, for which he earned SAG Award and Golden Globe nominations. “That was an experience that was creatively overwhelming,” he said.
She also commented that she would like to return to the role of director (although she has only done so in a couple of shorts and a television film starring Jennifer Hudson): “I would love to sit in that chair more times. I enjoy it from start to finish."
In addition to the second season of "The Morning Show", whose filming was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, Jennifer Aniston has yet to record the long-awaited meeting of "Friends" for the HBO Max platform with Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc, Lisa Kudrow, Courteney Cox, and David Schwimmer.
