Jennifer Lawrence says that her mistakes on set gave rise to a series of jokes on the team. "You better give that Oscar back!" they would tell her.
The trust and good vibes that developed on the set of "The Hunger Games" led cast members to upset Jennifer Lawrence over her Oscar award this year. The actress who gives life to the heroine Katniss Everdeen took the Academy Award for her role in "The Good Side of Things", which served as a plot to "bully" her when she was wrong in the scenes of her.
"I kind of wished the 'Hunger Games' crew didn't know about (the award) because every time I messed up my lines Woody (Harrelson) would say, 'You better bring that Oscar back!'" the actress said. 23-year-old actress. "But when I came back (to shoot the second installment of "The Games" after the Oscar) I told everyone that things were going to be very, very different," said the actress, raising her chest before letting out a laugh. "The applause was very nice, but I was like, 'we have to take the next step,'" added the young actress, who is known for her sense of humor.
While her role in the "Hunger Games" sequel "Catching Fire" isn't classic Oscars, playing a bow-and-arrow fighter in the film adaptation of Suzanne Collins's popular books also doesn't affect her status. Lawrence has accomplished the awards. "I don't really look for something when I sit down to read the script," Lawrence said in a recent interview. "I don't think too much, it's a weird, emotional, instinctive thing that only affects me." Lawrence, who is capable of playing both comedy and drama roles in both big studio movies and independent films, says her enduring universal success was unintentional. "It just happened and everyone congratulated me," said the actress. "I started out in indie films and always envisioned myself in small films for the rest of my career.
Then came 'The Hunger Games' and I was at a huge crossroads. I would have done it on the spur of the moment if it had been an indie film, but it was a huge thing. I had to think about it for several days." Lawrence accepted the role because of his attraction to the leading lady, a strong character. "She's under a lot of expectations," said the actress. "It's exciting to have a heroine like this. She says a lot about our society." Although she was already on Hollywood's radar after starring in the acclaimed 2010 drama "Blood Ties," which earned her an Oscar nomination, Lawrence said "The Hunger Games" took it to another level. "He put everything in a different place that I could never have imagined and he (Oscar) did amazing things for my career. I'm just going with the flow."
The Contribution of Simplicity Branded as the "normal" girl of Hollywood, Lawrence's approachable personality contributes to her success. Also, she refuses to stop eating to meet the beauty standards of the film industry. And at the November 11 premiere of "Catching Fire" in London, she walked off the red carpet to hug a wheelchair-bound fan. "She's refreshing," Lawrence's, "Hunger Games" co-star Liam Hemsworth said of the actress's disposition. "He doesn't try to be anything he's not and he has one of the biggest hearts I've ever encountered." "Catching Fire" director Francis Lawrence (no relation to the actress) adds: "Jen is such a down-to-earth ditzy who sets an example for everyone. She doesn't take anything too seriously.
She can do an intense scene, stop and joke around. It's very rare to be able to do things at the level that she can." Does she take pride in being so close to people? "Not really, because I never wanted it that way," said Lawrence, who ditched her formal clothes to change into sportswear for her late-afternoon interview. "A girl can't resist that much!" she said. Lawrence will next share the screen with veteran actors Robert De Niro and Christian Bale in David O. Russell's 1970s corruption story "American Hustle," opening December 18.
The actress admits that working with that cast made her nervous. "But Christian is the cutest and he made me feel very normal and welcome," Lawrence said. The film was also an opportunity to work again with Russell, her director on "The Bright Side of Things." "It's like creative epinephrine," she said. Next up for Lawrence will be her participation in "X-Men: Days of Future Past" and "A Couple of Idiots 2." And if that wasn't enough, Lawrence will soon be on the other side of the camera as a producer of the adaptation of Jeanette Walls' memoirs."The Glass Castle". "I don't know if it will work out, but I'm trying," she said. Feeling "very satisfied" with the path of her career so far, Lawrence said she has yet to reach her professional pinnacle. "I don't think she's gotten to the point where she's like, 'Oh, yeah!'" the actress said. "But luckily I've always had a very relaxed perspective on all of that."
