The interpreter was ill at the beginning of April and was shown with a respirator to raise awareness among her followers
“She has never been this sick,” Alyssa Milano wrote in her latest Instagram post. In a shocking photograph, the actress appears with a respirator on her face. "This is me on April 2, after spending two weeks sick."
"My whole body hurt. I lost my sense of smell. It felt like an elephant was sitting on my chest. I couldn't breathe. She vomited everything she ate. I lost more than four kilos in two weeks. I felt disoriented. He had a slight fever. And the headache was horrible. Basically, I had all the symptoms of COVID ”, Milano, 47, lists her ordeal after contracting the disease.
According to the actress, she was infected with COVID-19 last April, but she was not aware of the meaning of those symptoms until she received the results of an antibody test. Previously, she had done two tests, in March, and both came out negative. She even had one for antibodies when she started feeling better, but it was also negative.
“At the end of March, I took two COVID-19 tests and both were negative. I also had a covid antibody test (the finger prick test) after feeling a bit better, but it was also negative,” she explained.
Milano related that in the following months, she continued with symptoms. “After living for the next four months with dizziness, stomach problems, irregular periods, rapid heartbeat, shortness of breath, short-term memory loss, and general malaise, I took an antibody test; but this time with a blood draw and it came out that I am positive for coronavirus antibodies, I had COVID.19 ″, Milano explained that she wants to draw attention to the reliability of the tests, which is not always definitive.
"I just want you to know that our testing system is flawed and we don't know the real numbers. I also want you to know that this disease is not a lie," the actress said in her post. “Please take care, wash your hands, wear a mask, and keep your social distance. I don't want anyone to feel the way I did," she said.
Like other Hollywood stars, Milano has also wanted to make her followers aware of the reality of a disease that has already caused the death of more than 700,000 people around the world. “I thought I was dying. I felt like I was dying. I'm going to donate my plasma in the hope of saving a life," said Milano, in line with what Bryan Cranston and Tom Hanks also did after overcoming the disease.
