'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3' is already in theaters and, as usual, James Gunn offers fans an action-packed and fast-paced trilogy finale that Miley Cyrus couldn't join after her cameo in the second film and about which the director has spoken.
A network of movies and series as extensive as the one that the Marvel Cinematic Universe has can afford to include constant winks to the viewer. So many fans, apart from going to the movies to see the new adventures of their favorite heroes, also scrutinize each image in search of 'easter eggs' or cameos that feed theories for future projects.
Some of them do reveal important details for the future of each franchise, although others serve more for the enjoyment of their protagonists and remain an anecdote, as happened with Elsa Pataky and her role in 'Thor: Love and Thunder', among others.
In the same way, James Gunn with his 'Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy is another of the directors who have lavished themselves in this regard, giving the audience moments of fun with his continuous pop references. Thus, in the second installment, he cast a very brief character for Miley Cyrus that surely many do not remember. And is that the singer lent her voice to the Mainframe robot, seen at the end of the tape together with Sylvester Stallone.
Just as the actor from 'The Expendables reprises his role in the new film, many expected the artist to do the same in 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3', but James Gunn confirmed that this was not the case.
The director was asked on Twitter if Miley Cyrus could not reprise her role from the second film and if the Mainframe android was the same character in this part 3. To which the director responded with two short "yes", replacing her with actress Tara Strong.
This confirms that the author of 'Flowers' couldn't commit herself because of her schedule. In fact, she recently released her new album, 'Endless Summer Vacation', preventing her from participating in the closing of the saga.
