Jason Sudeikis found out about Olivia Wilde's affair with Harry Styles from an Apple Watch. The couple's former nanny told the Daily Mail that the "Ted Lasso" star discovered the details of the relationship in a device that Wilde forgot at home to go to the set where he was filming "Don't Worry Darling". ”, starring Styles.
Wilde had allegedly left without her Apple Watch, which contained text messages between her and Styles, and Sudeikis caught up with the exchanges.
“On Monday morning of November 9, when I came back from a weekend off, Jason was crying a lot. He did not know anything about what had happened, ”said the nanny.
“After getting the kids ready, Jason came upstairs and was having a coffee. He was a mess, saying, 'She left us. She left us!'”
The woman, who helped care for the couple's two children, Daisy, 6, and Otis, 8, further alleged that Sudeikis promptly banned staff from listening to Styles' music at his home after learning of Wilde's affair with the musician.
And she claimed Sudeikis, 47, was completely shocked when Wilde, 38, broke up over Styles and later said the split with her had been amicable.
"He was so heartbroken," she alleged. "He started telling me details of the relationship with Styles and said, 'She made the first move.'"
She also claimed that Sudeikis jumped on Wilde's car once to try to stop him from going to see the 28-year-old "Watermelon Sugar" singer.
“She went back into the house. She said that she was doing it on purpose so that she would be late to see Harry,” the nanny claimed. "Jason said to me, 'He made this salad and he made her special dressing and he's leaving with his salad for dinner with Harry.'"
Sudeikis then fired the woman when he was drunk. “He said: ‘You go get your things and you leave. Why are you texting him? 'I told him, 'Jason, you've been drinking and I can tell you're drunk. You are very angry and I am afraid of you,'” he recalled of that day.
Wilde and Sudeikis parted ways in 2020 after more than seven years together. By January 2021, Wilde went public with her love for Styles, though she denied leaving Sudeikis for the former One Direction member. Things got even uglier for the exes when Wilde received legal custody papers from him publicly in April while he was speaking on a panel at CinemaCon.
"Jason's actions were clearly intended to threaten me and catch me off guard," Wilde alleged, though Sudeikis claimed he never intended to humiliate her.
The "Don't Worry Darling" actress and director reflected on the incident in a cover interview for Variety magazine published Wednesday. “Unfortunately, it wasn't something that totally surprised me,” Wilde admitted. "I mean, for a reason I left that relationship."
Wilde noted that the only people harmed were his children Otis and Daisy. “They will have to see that. The victims were children of 8 and 5 years old, and that is very sad, ”she sentenced.
The actress previously criticized Sudeikis, in a court filing, saying she received the notice "in the most aggressive way possible."
At the time, a source close to the actor told Page Six that he "had no prior knowledge of the time or place the envelope would be delivered."
Sudeikis stated that he was "deeply upset" by the events and that he continues to "feel great anguish" over what happened.
