'Barrados' star reveals vomiting on a disastrous first date with a fellow actor and accuses him of being selfish
Tori Spelling decided to narrate one of the most disastrous romantic encounters of her life: the time she went out with Eddie Cibrian, her professional colleague, and ended up throwing up in a restaurant.
The 'Barrados no Baile' actress, 49, rescued the experience on the 'ReWives With Bethenny Frankel' podcast. The American said that the date took place almost 30 years ago when she was already acting in the successful series created by Darren Star. At the time, Tori met the 'Sunset Beach' star at a nightclub, and they decided to arrange a meeting at a point in Hollywood.
"We sat down and I looked at the menu, nervous. Then he said: 'I'm not very hungry. You're not hungry, are you?'', recalled the actress. "What do you say at that time? I was a young girl, and he was a young heartthrob. I was like, "Okay, sure." And he said, 'Let's just get drinks'."
The problem is that Tori got sick on an empty stomach from the drinks Eddie ordered for her. "I ended up getting really high. So drunk that, when I went to the bathroom, I walked into the kitchen by mistake and threw up in the bottom of it", said the artist. "Long story short: I threw up in the back [of the establishment] and Eddie took me home. I think he kissed me and I was like, 'Oh, I hope I don't have barf breath.'"
It was clear that Tori and Eddie didn't make a good team after their encounter – which didn't bother the actress. What upset her was that, after the date, the actor contacted her to ask for a casting test on one of the shows that her father, TV, and film producer Aaron Spelling, was doing at the time. This made Tori certain that Eddie only wanted to date her out of professional interest.
"It always left me with a bad impression," admitted Tori. "But he was a super nice guy, apparently. I have nothing against him other than that. And we didn't get along anyway."
In the end, Eddie Cibrian ended up marrying Brandi Glanville in 2001. Parents of two teenage children divorced in 2010 after the actor starred in a cheating scandal with singer LeeAnn Rimes.
Tori Spelling was married to Charlie Shanian from 2004 to 2006 when she started her relationship – and exchanged rings – with actor Dean McDermott. Together to date, they have five children: children: Liam, 16 years old; Stella, 14; Hatti, aged 11; Finn, aged 10; and Beau Dean, six.
