The American actor passed away on February 5 at the age of 103.
Issur Danilovich Demsky, artistically known as Kirk Douglas, was not only a great American actor but also a great person. He left a great film legacy to remember with films like "Spartacus" and "Paths of Glory", although he was never recognized by the Film Academy with an Oscar for best actor. They did grant him an honorary one in 1996, perhaps too late.
Two weeks after his death at the age of 103, the last wills of Michael Douglas' father have been made public. Of the $61 million he had, $50 million will go to the Douglas Foundation, the charity he co-founded nearly six decades ago with his wife Anne Buydens Douglas that aims to "help those who otherwise could not help themselves.
The society supports Children's Hospital Los Angeles, the Kirk and Anne Douglas Children's Center, St. Lawrence University, Westwood Temple Sinai, and Culver City's Kirk Douglas Theater. It is unknown where the remaining nine million dollars will go. As published by "Mirror"
During his lifetime, Kirk Douglas was a man who tried to help many causes with his sin. With his donations, she helped build more than 400 playgrounds and offered his support to Northridge Institute. In 2015, Michael Douglas's father donated 14 million euros to build a shelter for actors suffering from Alzheimer's, "Harry's Asylum".
As Michael Douglas himself said after his death: Kirk's life was well lived. He leaves behind a legacy in film that will live on for generations to come, and a history as a renowned philanthropist who worked to help the public and bring peace to the planet."
