Her youngest daughter, Amblin executive Katie Fiala, explained that her mother died at her Thousand Oaks, California home.

Born in London in 1928 as Patricia Alma O'Connell, the daughter of Hitchcock and the editor and screenwriter Alma Reville (they were married for 54 years), she moved to Los Angeles with her parents at the age of ten and since she was little she dreamed of with being a Hollywood actress.

After playing teenagers in a couple of 1940s Broadway comedies, her first film role was as Chubby Bannister, a Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts classmate of Jane Wyman's character in Stage Fright. (Stage Fright, 1950).

Pat Hitchcock also appeared in 10 episodes of the CBS series Alfred Hitchcock Presents, between 1955 and 1960. "Whenever they needed a maid with an English accent they called me," she told The Washington Post in 1984. In a 2004 interview for the Academy's website, Pat Hitchcock discussed working with her father, noting, “There was nothing unusual about it. Just like with [any other actor] we would discuss the scene and do it. We don't test things."

"Pat Hitchcock was very close to my father," she then added, speaking about her childhood and adolescence. “He used to take me every Saturday, shopping and having lunch. He took me to church regularly on Sundays until I could drive. Then I would take him to church regularly. Because of his diligence, my religion is so strong today."
