In an interview, the psychotherapist psychologist Ítalo Macha described the profile of this character in his last presentation; Suicide Squad (2016), a film in which the most famous DC Comics supervillains take center stage.
According to Macha, the role played by Jared Leto shows a psychopathic personality disorder that incites him to drive people into a panic.
This disorder, according to Macha, prevents people from having any kind of empathy or attachment.
2. Lucy Whitmore
In the movie As if it were the first time (2004), also known as 50 first dates, Whitmore is an art teacher who has a strange syndrome: she forgets part of her life every day.
Although for most people this syndrome is strange and even an invention of the seventh art, if you study Psychology you will be able to identify that it is a type of amnesia called anterograde.
According to the dictionary of psychological terms, people who suffer from this type of amnesia forget the events that occurred after the etiological agent, that is, the event that caused the syndrome.
This type of amnesia can originate through a shock or a strong contusion to the brain, as is the case of Whitmore, who suffered a car accident on October 13, 2002.
Despite her limited ability to store memories, this art teacher manages to establish a particular relationship with Henry Roth, a veterinarian played by Adam Sandler.
3. Randle Patrick McMurphy
Playing Randle Patrick McMurphy masterfully in Caught with No Way Out (1975), a dramatic comedy that went down in American film history earned Jack Nicholson the first of the two Best Actor Oscars he has won in his long career.
McMurphy, a hopeless criminal, fakes mental illness to avoid going under pressure, and he succeeds! As a result, he is admitted to a psychiatric hospital where he encourages the rest of the patients to rebel against the institution.
Even though he entered apparently healthy, McMurphy did not have an entirely good time in the mental hospital. After receiving treatments to quell his rebelliousness, he suffered from catatonia.
Catatonia, even though it is also usually treated by specialists in Psychiatry, is a syndrome studied by Psychology.
According to the Magazine, catatonia is a neuropsychological type syndrome, which prevents muscle contraction, and joint flexibility and, in addition, is frequently accompanied by cognitive, consciousness, and perception alterations.
