The actors who played 'Lucy' and 'Henry' in the film had a virtual reunion on Drew Barrymore's talk show.
Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler fell in love with more than one after starring in the movie "As if for the first time" in 2004. This romantic comedy turns 16 this 2020 and the actors met virtually to surprise fans.
The actress has had to reinvent herself due to the pandemic and she decided to launch a talk show that she called "The Drew Barrymore Show". Her last guest was the Hollywood actor with whom she remembered pleasant moments in the filming, however, they were encouraged to recreate one of the scenes from this film.
For the sketch, they put themselves back in the role of 'Lucy' and 'Harry' where he recorded a video of his 'wife' because she has a short-term memory and she suffered an accident while going to get a pineapple for her birthday.
"I update you. You have amnesia, I am your husband, and we have a daughter who is 40 years old now. It is the year 2020, we are in the middle of a pandemic that is terrible. Baseball games are played with cardboard audiences. Good things are happening in the world, like Netflix. Long story short, 2020 hasn't been great,” Adam Sandler said as his character did in “As if it were the first time.”
The video ends with Sandler wishing Barrymore the best in his new project and the actress saying "It couldn't start without him being part of the moment." They both thanked each other for staying in touch and hope to be able to do another virtual reunion since they have worked together on many movies.
"As if it were the first time," tells the story of Lucy (Drew Barrymore), a young woman who suffers from memory loss. One day, she meets Henry (Adam Sandler) with whom she falls in love, but the next day she doesn't know who he is.
He dedicates himself to making videos for her every day to remind her that they are a couple and is willing to do whatever it takes to remind her that she has her true love by her side.
