The death of actress Helen McCrory at the age of 52, a victim of cancer
Helen McCrory's death has shaken the general public that has followed the most outstanding productions in which she has participated, such as the Peaky Blinders series or the Harry Potter films.
But those who have really suffered the loss of the artist have been her husband, the actor Damian Lewis, and their two children in common, Manon and Gulliver, with whom they formed a united family that today is orphaned by one of its members.
It was Damian Lewis himself who announced to the world the death of his wife after fighting the disease that finally won the battle. “I am heartbroken to announce that, after a heroic fight against cancer, the beautiful and powerful woman that is Helen McCrory has died peacefully at home, surrounded by a wave of love from her friends and family,” he wrote on Twitter.
In her farewell message, Damian Lewis highlighted that "she lived and died without fear" and then dedicated a loving farewell to her: "We love her and God knows how lucky we have been to have had her in our lives. She was shining brightly."
Damien Lewis and Helen McCrory were married on July 4, 2007, when they had already been the parents of his first daughter, Manon McCrory-Lewis, who is currently 15 years old. Four months after going through the altar, her second son, Gulliver, was born.
The family is installed in London although they also own a house near Sudbury, in Suffolk, the place where the British singer Ed Sheeran was born and lives. Despite the fame of Damian Lewis and Helen McCrory, the couple's children have always stayed away from the cameras and have rarely been seen accompanying their parents at public events.
In an interview given in 2015, the couple stated that they did not let their children use the computer for long periods and that, in addition, they had a "10-minute" rule for weekends. And it is that McCrory feared that the abuse of technology would cause her children to lose the ability to express themselves.
Manon is a teenager who, like any girl her age, is quite active on Instagram. In fact, the last photo of her posted four days ago, has become a wall of condolences after the death of her mother.
