Millie Bobby Brown has spoken about her fiancé Jake Bongiovi, her wedding, and how her family received the news that she was getting married. The 'Stranger Things' actress announced her engagement last April at the age of 19.
Last April Millie Bobby Brown left all her Instagram fans in shock after announcing by surprise that she had gotten engaged to her boyfriend, Jake Bongiovi.
The couple began dating in 2021 after meeting on Instagram. Now, the actress who plays Eleven in 'Stranger Things' has offered a candid interview to 'The Sunday Times' where she assures that she always knew that Jake was "the one".
"I was interested in him and wanted to know more. As soon as we talked I knew he was going to be a big part of my life," she confesses.
"I ran to my mom and said, 'I really like him!' After we met we knew we never wanted to be apart from each other." And then she goes on to say, "You can't pinpoint why, it's just the feeling of knowing that this is the person you want to spend the rest of your time with."
"I think a lot of life is thinking too much. The only thing that made sense to me was him. So I didn't have to think much," she continues, explaining her feelings towards her fiancée.
Also, Millie explains that Jake asked her to marry him with a ring from her mother: "I've always loved that ring, it always caught my eye, so she gave it to Jake."
"They were in cahoots about the whole proposal. I love being able to always have a piece of my mom with me."
About her family and that of Jake, who is the son of singer Jon Bongiovi, she assures that they are very happy about their engagement: "They are super happy. My parents adore him. We both come from parents who have been together for a long time."
"When my parents crossed paths at a young age, they laid the foundation for healthy relationship role models in my life."
"Being embraced by her family, who are truly wonderful people, fills me with gratitude for being included in their world," she adds.
Finally, Millie Bobby Brown has given some details about her wedding and declared that she does not have a date yet. She has also spoken about her wedding dress and that she is "weighing options" after receiving many proposals from designers but stresses that "it's not about what I wear."
The matter of whether she will alter her name upon marrying Jake to Millie Bobby Brown Bongiovi, or possibly incorporate her own surname, has been a topic she's addressed. "I certainly don't believe that's the solution," she asserts. Nonetheless, these discussions are actively taking place and hold significance for me," she adds in conclusion.
