The curious objects that Angelina Jolie collects

Angelina Jolie always captivates the public with her public appearances and her humanitarian work, but when some details of her private life come to light, she always causes surprises.

The curious objects that Angelina Jolie collects

Angelina Jolie is completely focused on her career. She is currently in Italy directing Without Blood, an adaptation of Alessandro Baricco's book that will feature performances by Salma Hayek and Demián Bechir.

This is not the actress's first directing job, as she has already done it six times (whether in movies or documentaries). And with a filmography made up of dozens of hits like Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Girl, Interrupted or Eternals, Angelina Jolie has achieved good fortune that allows her to afford all the luxuries.

And the luxury that the Maleficent actress has chosen to indulge in is quite unusual. The interpreter is a fan of knives and she has a large and expensive collection that she has kept since she was very young. Her admiration began when she was 11 years old and thanks to her mother, Marcheline Bertrand. Both used to frequent Renaissance fairs where the young Angelina was fascinated by the designs and she soon started collecting them.

In an interview with host Conan O'Brien, the actress spoke about it. “It reminds you of history. There is something beautiful about them and the traditions of different countries that used different weapons or blades. There is something really beautiful about them to me,” she revealed.

Also, she showed that she is very skilled at handling them. And it could be said that she has experience. In 2001 and 2003 she starred in the Tomb Raider movies where she played Lara Croft, a very skilled adventurer with weapons. A couple of years later, in 2005, she starred in Mr. & Mrs. Smith alongside Brad Pitt. The funny thing is that in it, her character also has an interesting collection of knives and weapons.

And everything seems to indicate that Angelina is in charge of passing this hobby on to her children. Although she always made sure that her prized collection of exotic knives and daggers was locked a was a box and out of the reach of her children for safety reasons, she also took it upon herself to teach them how to use them carefully.

The first one she introduced to the subject was her son Maddox in 2008 when he was only 7 years old. When she noticed that the boy showed some interest in these objects, she took it upon herself to provide him with daggers for beginners that could not cause him harm, and to this, she added several educational talks about violence and responsibility. “We talked about samurai and the idea of defending someone. We talk about everything," revealed the actress in an interview with W Magazine.

Undoubtedly, it is a somewhat curious hobby for the Jolie-Pitt family, but it seems that the actress has everything under control and she enjoys expanding her knowledge of historical pieces with her children.
