Friendship-themed movies move audiences. One of these titles, which is also based on a true event, has conquered a streaming platform as one of the most-watched movies, even in various parts of the world.

The film we are talking about is "Dog, a wild trip" (Dog). Released at the beginning of 2022, this road movie focuses on the friendship story that arises between a man and a dog. Starring Channing Tatum, "Dog" takes us before Jackson Briggs (Tatum) a former ranger with post-traumatic stress who requests to return to activity.

As he receives a refusal from the army due to his problems, a possible opportunity arises. A highly decorated soldier named Riley Rodriguez has died. Jackson will have a special assignment with Lulu, a Belgian Malinois that belonged to Riley. Upon completion of the assignment, he will be recommended to return to Pakistan.

Jackson must take Lulu to Arizona to attend the funeral of her former owner. What appears to be an easy journey turns out to be a complication, as the Belgian Shepherd has quite aggressive behavior and Jackson is not eager to help. The road to Arizona will serve for both of them to begin a necessary process of healing and friendship.

In addition to Channing, "Dog" stars Q'orianka Kilcher, Cayden Boyd, Jane Adams, Kevin Nash, Ethan Suplee, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Bill Burr, Ronnie Gene Blevins, and Nicole LaLiberte.

This film is the directorial debut of Channing Tatum, as well as his friend, screenwriter Reid Carolin. The story is inspired by a true event experienced by the protagonist and director. In 2018 Tatum took her dog Lulu on an extensive trip across the United States after she was diagnosed with terminal cancer.

"Dog, a wild trip" was originally intended to be released in 2021, but like other titles it was affected, by the explosion of the pandemic. After several modifications to the date, the film was presented in February 2022.

The reception was positive. Critics highlighted that despite being a predictable story, what Tatum and Carolin achieved is moving. The film also surprised at the box office, earning $85 million. With its budget being only $15 million, "Dog" was a commercial success.

At the beginning of August, "Dog, a wild trip" was presented on HBO Max Latin America and since then it has occupied the Top 10 of the most viewed on the platform. What better than the weekend to take advantage of and get carried away by this emotional road movie.
