The intense debate that divided the life of Al Pacino and Robert De Niro

Social networks have become the site where some of the most intense and heated debates of today take place. From political debates to those related to the world of entertainment and popular culture. And recently, a question from a Twitter user sparked quite a conversation.

“I am at a wedding and we are having a great debate. Please vote. Who was cuter? Young Pacino or young Robert De Niro? expressed a young woman on Twitter. Quickly, the message began to capture the attention of thousands of people, who were quick to express their opinion and defend their responses.

Surprisingly, the debate became so public that it received more than 250,000 votes and soon had an impact on different media. The truth is that the Pacino vs. De Niro conversation has been imposed for several years now, but this is the first time that it has become such a discussed topic, especially among the younger generations.

Both Robert De Niro and Al Pacino began acting around the age of 20, and both surprised the public, as they quickly became two of the most sought-after actors in the industry, and unlike other actors of the time, they were not characterized for having the "hegemonic" or typical beauty.

Even so, both were conquering people with their charisma, attractiveness and of course, talent. To this day, both Robert de Niro and Al Pacino are considered two of the best actors of their generation in Hollywood, and both have two long careers behind them.

De Niro began to gain notoriety in 1969 after being part of The Wedding Party, a film directed by Brian De Palma. Just a couple of years later, in 1974, he joined the cast of The Godfather II (which also featured Al Pacino), and from then on, his career took off. De Niro ended up starring in great classics such as Taxi Driver, The Sniper, Raging Bull, The King of Comedy, Good Boys, Casino, and Fire Against Fand ire, among many others.

Something similar happened with Al Pacino. He took his first steps in acting at the hands of the theater and one of his first big projects was The Godfather, where he played Michael Corleone. From then on, he began to become almost a benchmark for criminal and dramatic cinema, as he starred in films such as Serpico, Dog Afternoon, Scarface, and Perfume of a Woman, among many others.

For many years, there was a rumor that between Robert De Niro and Al Pacino there was a rivalry. However, these rumors were put aside when the actors worked together on Fuego contra Fuego in 1995. Later, they coincided in two more films: Face to Face in 2008 and The Irishman in 2019.
