Steven Spielberg has built a large family over the years, and all of his children have followed his own path. However, the professional choice of her daughter, Mikaela, has caused a stir.

The couple's eldest child is Jessica Capshaw, who was the offspring of her mother's previous relationship and whom Steven later took on as his own. The 27-year-old surprised everyone by confessing that she would dedicate herself to adult cinema. This decision started after battling for many years with addictions and situations that affected her mental health. In addition, she confessed that she was very happy to have found a profession that made her happy. “I got tired of not being able to profit from my body. I think that by doing this job I can satisfy other people, and that makes me feel good. I got tired of working every day on something that didn't satisfy my soul. This is a positive and empowering decision.”
And while Steven Spielberg and his wife have been largely receptive and have tried to support his daughter in his career, they've also found it unnerving. A source close to the marriage once expressed that it seemed disappointing to them, especially since they always put a lot of care into raising their children and transmitting good values to them. In addition, they were upset that Mikaela was so public about her personal problems and her mental health, as she revealed that she always felt alone because she was a biracial girl in the middle of a mostly white family.

From this, the young woman was able to reflect on her life, and it was at this moment that she decided to enter the life of adult content, where she feels safe and with more self-esteem.
In 2020, Mikaela was detained by authorities after an altercation with her boyfriend and fiancé Chuck Pankow, a professional darts player who is more than twenty years older than the filmmaker's daughter. The young woman was quickly released and it was later mentioned that it had all been a misunderstanding.
