Tom Holland revealed to battling an addiction

Tom Holland has been one of the great promises of the film industry for some years. The 27-year-old actor, who began his career when he was only 12 years old on stage, is expected to be one of the great legends of the new decades, as happened with Robert De Niro, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Keanu Reeves, all very different figures. that today are synonymous with success.

The truth is that the young actor came to the big screen at the age of 15 when he was part of the film The Impossible, released in 2012, in which he played one of the sons of Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor. That same year, he was named a Breakthrough Actor by the National Board of Review and nominated for a Critics' Choice Award for Best Young Actor.

Since he took his first steps, he knew that Tom Holland had talent and the doors never stopped opening for him. But the world of fame, success, millions, recognition, and the pressure to achieve good performance is not easy, which makes many stars fall into some addictions that end up ruining their life.

Fortunately, the Spider-Man actor was able to detect in time that he was going astray and reconsidered. That problem that he went through some time ago he kept it a secret until now. On Jay Shetty's On Purpose podcast, Zendaya's boyfriend opened up about his addiction issues for the first time.

Tom Holland was going through some mental health problems, caused by the same stress and work pressure. That led him last Christmas to drink a lot more alcohol than he could have thought, but luckily he was able to realize it himself and make the decision to stop drinking before it gets more difficult.

He spent thirty days without drinking a drop of alcohol and had a very bad time: I woke up thinking about it. It scared me a lot. He was like, 'Maybe I have a problem with alcohol.'" The actor admitted that at the time he was just thinking about how badly he wanted some alcohol.

That led him to decide not to drink for another month, but the process was not easy because Tom Holland felt cut off from his friends: "I felt like I couldn't be social. I felt like I couldn't go to the pub and have a soda."

With the perspective that time gave him, the young actor recognized that the effort he made was worth it and that now, without drinking alcoholic beverages, he feels much better about himself and no longer suffers for not doing so.
