Living with a teenager is usually not easy. This is often the age when parents are most challenged and dealing with it can be exhausting. But Matt Damon is a clear example that not even being a celebrity can stop being a father and that it is best to take it with some humor.
When the actor began his career, he played a rebellious teenager several times, surely without expecting that one day he would be on the other side and have to deal with that attitude as a father.
Although for many, Matt Damon is a great actor and recipient of multiple awards and nominations, not everyone has managed to impress with his versatile performances. Much less his 16-year-old daughter Isabella, who has found a funny but at the same time cruel method to annoy her father.
Recently, the actor stated in an interview what his family's opinions were regarding his films. Damon responded that they generally don't like seeing his work. He especially emphasized the attitude of his teenage daughter. “My 16-year-old daughter likes to give me a hard time. She is very clear that she does not want to see anything I am doing if she thinks it could be good.”
Her daughter refuses to watch the excellent films in which her father has participated and chooses to only watch the content that may be bad. “If I get bad reviews on something, that's what she wants to see.”
“That is the coldest, most heartless thing I have ever heard from a 16-year-old.” The interviewer, Seth Meyers, responded with a laugh. On one occasion, Matt Damon even overheard Isabella talking to her friends about her movie The Wall of Her. He corrected her, saying that it is actually titled The Great Wall, to which she responded, “Dad, there's nothing great about that movie.”
Even so, the actor said with a laugh that teasing like this is common in his family. Another example is when he asks his wife about her performance in the film Air and she replies: “The movie is great. You look horrible".
But none of these comments are taken very seriously because he knows that thanks to the bonds of trust that have been created in his family, they can joke like this without intending to hurt. Furthermore, he shows that humor is the best way and it is better to have a healthy family relationship.
