Elvis Presley's daughter died on January 12 at the age of 54. Six months after her death, the forensic report on her cause of death was released.
Lisa Marie Presley died from complications associated with a small intestine obstruction. According to Los Angeles County medical examiner records, no drugs were found in her system and her death has been ruled natural.
Presley was 54 years old when she died on January 12 after suffering cardiac arrest earlier that day. Paramedics reportedly performed CPR on the singer at her Calabasas, California, home before taking her pulse and transporting her to West Hills Hospital and Medical Center in Los Angeles.
It was later revealed that Presley was on life support and in a medically induced coma. The cause of death of Lisa Marie Presley has been revealed by the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office 5 months after what happened.
According to TMZ, the only daughter of rock icon Elvis Presley and Priscilla Presley had been dealing with stomach issues the week of her death. She was then seen later that night on the red carpet looking unsteady during an interview with "Extra" correspondent Billy Bush. “I'm going to grab your arm,” the singer told her late father's friend, Jerry Schilling, who was next to her during the interview. Other than that, there was no indication that Lisa Marie had been dealing with any major health issues.
However, in 2019 she admitted for the first time that she had a history of drug abuse. According to her story, she became addicted to opioids and painkillers when she welcomed her twin daughters, Harper and Finley, in 2008. By 2013, her addiction had reportedly worsened and she entered into rehabilitation five times.
Lisa Marie was believed to have been sober in the last few years of her life. However, she struggled deeply with the death of her son, Benjamin Keough, who committed suicide. Lisa Marie is survived by her three daughters: Riley Keough and twins, Harper and Finley Lockwood.
