Good news for fans of the DC Universe: after much uncertainty, departures, and additions within the cast of actors, Gal Gadot will continue as Wonder Woman in the world of superheroes.
After so much speculation, rumors, and a universe that began to be renewed little by little, Gal Gadot confirmed her participation in the third Wonder Woman film, a project that was announced for December of this year but has not yet begun production, so which is estimated to take a little longer.
The actress also announced that the feature film will be made in a joint collaboration with the new heads of DC Studios, James Gunn and Peter Safran. This also opens up a range of opportunities for her, although the plot of the film is still unknown.
The first film, Wonder Woman, took us to a setting that placed us in the First World War and was a true success (budget of 150 million dollars and collection of 825 million). The second, Wonder Woman 1984, took us to the 80s, but the reception was poor (budget of 200 million and collection of 166 million).
And now? Wonder Woman 3 had every chance to be set in the present time, putting it in line with the DC Universe of films like Batman v Superman and Justice League in which she has also participated.
However, this alternative would be up in the air because the DC reboot in the hands of James Gunn must be taken into account. It would seem impossible that the plot of Gal Gadot's new film Wonder Woman is set in the present, knowing that actors like Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck would be outside the universe that is beginning.
Let us remember that under Gunn's command, there will be titles such as Superman: Legacy (2025), The Brave and the Bold (2028), The Authority (2028), Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow (2030), and Swamp Thing (2030), so which could be part of that heading apart from where Joker (2029), The Batman (2022) and its sequels belong.
“I love playing Wonder Woman. She is a character very close to my heart. From what I have heard from James and Peter, we are going to prepare their third film together,” Gal Gadot confessed these days, confirming the third film although it still with many mysteries to solve.
