J.K. Rowling was removed from the Museum of Pop Culture

The writer J.K. Rowling has been removed from the Museum of Pop Culture in Seattle, United States. The writer's name does not appear even in the corridors dedicated to the magician himself, born from the pen of the British woman.

The reason for this decision is the constant anti-trans stance of Rowling, who has repeatedly been against considering women who are not born that way, even after being opposed by all the stars of the film. This was notified by the museum's manager, Chris Moore.

"There is something cold, heartless, an entity that takes away joy in the world of Harry Potter, and it is not a Dementor," the post begins. But in addition to her anti-trans position, she has also had some positions that they consider wrong, such as "supporting anti-Semitic creators, their racial stereotypes, the lack of representation of minorities and much more," the message continued.

The museum's curators removed Rowling's name to "reduce the impact" in a decision they consider "not perfect, but it is what we have on hand in the short term while we decide on long-term practices." Finally, they considered that "The Harry Potter series occupies an important place in pop culture, we want to credit the actors, makeup artists, costume designers and more in our Fantastic Gallery. We learned that You Know Who was a problem so that you will see everything without any mention or image of the author".

Rowling has been inflexible in her statements, mainly in the most criticized one in which she maintains that a trans woman is not a woman. She recently clarified that "thousands of fans are still with me" and that she is "grateful to have said what she said."

Many of the actors who participated in the Harry Potter films stood on the opposite sidewalk, mainly Daniel Radcliffe, who played the wizard himself, carrying out a project in which he chatted and made known the reality of some teenagers belonging to the LGBTIQ collective. Daniel admitted that he felt pushed to respond to this message because "since we finished Potter, I have met a lot of trans or queer kids, young people who really identify with the characters because of that. And seeing them hurt those days, I wanted to let them know that "Not everyone in the franchise thinks that way, and it's really important," Radcliffe concluded at the time.
