Prince Harry was convinced he was not the son of King Charles III

Among all these stories, the relationship she had with James Hewitt stands out, and the rumor that circulated that he could be Prince Harry's biological father is driven by the physical resemblance between the two.

Recently, the Duke of Sussex, now 38, addressed the media stories about his possible biological relationship with James Hewitt, the British army officer who was Princess Diana's riding teacher, and how those narratives impacted his life.

In the context of a legal dispute, where the prince alleges that unethical methods were used to obtain information about him, such as intercepting his calls, Harry read a testimony in which he shared his feelings regarding the persistent rumors. about his origin.

“Numerous newspapers had reported the rumor that my biological father was James Hewitt, a man with whom my mother had a relationship after I was born,” he told the High Court.

“At the time, when I was 18 and it had only been six years since the loss of my mother, I found those stories incredibly damaging and credible,” she added, describing the articles with those rumors as “hurtful, malicious and cruel.”

“I always questioned the motives behind these stories. “Were the newspapers willing to sow doubts in the public's mind to get me expelled from the Royal Family?” he mentioned.

He also explained that it was not until he was 30 that he realized that the times did not coincide between his birth and the relationship between his mother and Hewitt, since their romance began in 1986, two years after his birth.

“It was not until around 2014 that I learned of the correct chronology, although I now understand that this was known to the defendants' journalists,” detailed the duke, who also recalled an attempted conspiracy between the media to obtain a sample of his hair and perform a DNA test that would support that supposed relationship.

Lady Di met Hewitt when her marriage to Prince Charles was reportedly already in crisis, and her relationship began shortly after he began teaching her horse riding. According to the media, this romance lasted approximately five years, until Hewitt had to return to his military duties.

Later, James Hewitt co-wrote the book “Princess in Love” with journalist Anna Pasternak, where he recounts his relationship with Lady Di. He also became famous for selling the letters he exchanged with Diana.

As for Harry, Hewitt himself stated in 2002 that there was no possibility that he was the biological father of the Duke of Sussex, as he stated: “Harry was already walking when my relationship with Diana began.”
