Artificial Intelligence is a phenomenon that has invaded the Internet, with images, songs, and artistic creations of all kinds that have awakened equal parts fascination and fear in users.
Some alleged photos of Tom Cruise with his stunt double generated debates throughout the network about whether they were real or fake and called into question the credulity of several people.
Tom Cruise is an actor who, in addition to the fame he has obtained thanks to his dramatic talent, has achieved a great reputation for being one of the few stars who records his own action scenes without doubles. Added to this is a great component of seeing how he has climbed buildings, free-fall from enormous distances, or lasted 6 minutes without breathing underwater.
Precisely for this reason, the appearance of a photo in which the star is at an end-of-filming party with his apparent stunt double blew up the Internet and raised many questions. The image soon went viral, and many bewildered users wondered if it was something true or created by Artificial Intelligence, which is not the first time it has caused confusion at the expense of celebrities.
A few weeks before the premiere of the seventh film in the Mission Impossible saga, the image sparked many comments from users on social networks, who debated whether or not it was a real photo, in the absence of confirmation from the film team or Cruise himself.
The truth is that some specialists were able to verify that, indeed, they were images made by Artificial Intelligence. They did this by paying attention to details that, no matter how small they may seem, make a difference, such as fingers without nails, the skin that goes through the shirt of one of the clones, or the chandelier in the room that looks incomplete.
At the same time, the origin of the image was traced in a Facebook group, in which a user who used the Artificial Intelligence program, Midjourney, shared these images related to the movie star, which subsequently went viral and generated controversy.
The truth is that it seems that it was not the first, nor does it seem that it will be the last time, that many users confuse real photos with Artificial Intelligence, which seems to become increasingly sophisticated when it comes to capturing photographic realism.
