Salma Hayek was one of the protagonists of the movie "Desperado", in which she filmed one of the most uncomfortable scenes of her career.
Salma Hayek is the Mexican figure who has achieved the greatest notoriety in Hollywood, since the time of Dolores del Río, and the first from her country to have been nominated for an Oscar for Best Actress for her role in "Frida" (2002). However, she has gone through uncomfortable moments in her career as occurred when she recorded the movie "Desperado" (1995).
She was born 55 years ago in the city of Coatzacoalcos, in Veracruz, and began to be interested in acting as a teenager. Her first artistic job was in the play "Aladdin and the Wonderful Lamp", where a television producer saw her talent and offered her a job in the soap opera "Nuevo Dawn" on Televisa.
Her first leading role was "Teresa" (1989), which earned her the winner of the 1990 Awards in the Best New Actress category. Despite the success she achieved in Mexico, she settled in California, United States, to perfect her acting and look for a place in Hollywood.
At first, she had small roles until she received a proposal to be part of "Desperado" alongside the Spanish Antonio Banderas. Thanks to this project she began to gain notoriety in the American industry, but she revealed that one of the scenes in this film was one of the most uncomfortable moments of her life.
It all happened in 1995 when she was finishing filming the film, where the Mexican played a woman named Carolina. In a series of interviews with Dax Shepard and Monica Padman, Salma Hayek revealed that she felt uncomfortable when she had to film the romantic scene with Antonio Banderas, since he had a lot of experience and she didn't know what to do.
"I had never done anything like that so when we were going to start recording I started sobbing. One of the things I was afraid of was Antonio because he is absolutely a gentleman, we are still good friends, but he was very free, so It scared me because he was as if nothing had happened and I had never been in a situation like that," he revealed.
The scene was finally recorded and today the Mexican remembers that discomfort that she felt, but that helped her free herself for future projects. The actors worked together again in 2004 during the movie "Shrek" where they only provided the voices of their characters and confessed that their relationship remains intact despite the years.
