Silke rose to fame after her debut in cinema, but it did not last long. She preferred to abandon fame and be a designer in Ibiza.
Not everyone handles fame well and only some can realize it. Luckily for Silke, she foresaw this before it was too difficult to escape the muse label that cinema had given her.
Indeed, Silke did not come from a family of actors nor did she declare a passion for acting since she was a child. She was dedicated to selling handicrafts and at twenty years old she was still just another Madrid native who walked through the fashionable neighborhoods among the youth. However, her life changed radically when she was part of 'Hello, are you alone?' (1995), a film by Icíar Bollaín in which she starred alongside Candela Peña.
Then came 'I Have a House' by Mónica Laguna, and 'Tierra' by Julio Medem (a film with which she got the Goya nomination) and since then Silke's face has already been known throughout Spain. And if there was still someone confused who didn't know her, she saw her on television starring in some of the most legendary Evax advertisements.
She now lives in Ibiza and has her own clothing line
But things began to slow down as the decade ended. After participating in films such as 'Congratulations' (2000) or 'Tuno negro' (2001), the actress decided to leave the world of acting when she starred in 'La Hora Frida' by Emilio Quiroga in 2006.
"I took it very badly, the situation overwhelmed me. At that moment I wanted to disappear, but not from the cinema, but from planet Earth," she admitted in an interview she gave to El País a few years ago. She then said that she had gone from the red carpet to that "hippie life" that was so rumored when she left the cinema.
She no longer lived in Madrid, but in Ibiza, she had left the cinema and worked selling her designs at the Las Dalias Market stall.
At 46 years old, Silke is married and has a daughter. She has not completely abandoned acting, since from time to time she leaves her routine to record a small production, but far from any work aspiring to a Goya Award.
The one who was a renowned actress in the 90s reveals that, although both jobs have made her who she is, her current professional place is in her workshop, where she creates and designs her own clothing line. and accessories thereof.
