Tension increases between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie

The tense relationship between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt over the Chateau Miraval winery increased after reports accused Pitt of profiting from millions of dollars in constant renovations.

Tension increases between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie

Seven years after their divorce, the tension between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt continues to flourish. One of the reasons that confront them today is the sale of part of the Château Miraval winery, a French vineyard of almost 500 hectares that the couple shared, and that has caused the tense relationship between the two to increase.

The Hollywood couple who were in a relationship for 12 years before their split have once again found themselves in a legal dispute over the French vineyard. The 48-year-old protagonist of 'Maleficent' gave up her share in 2021 when she sold her vineyard to the Stoli group, Russian-born billionaire Yuri Shefler. However, Brad Pitt sued her for doing it without consulting him when it was something they had both agreed to.

For this action, the actor sued his ex-wife and she responded with a countersuit for $250 million because she sold his share of her winery to have "financial independence" from Brad Pitt. Initially, Jolie lost the trial by failing to present a series of documents. Instead, in February 2022 she demonstrated that Pitt had deprived her of her right to enjoy her private home.

However, the situation is increasingly tense, as Angelina's former investment company, Nouvel, has filed documents claiming that Pitt has taken advantage of his share of the winery they both bought in 2008 and that he "looted" the Provenz vineyard obtaining an economic benefit for years.

"Pitt squandered the company's assets, spending millions on vanity projects, including more than a million dollars on pool renovations, building and rebuilding a staircase four times, and spending millions of dollars refurbishing a recording studio," it appears. in the French company document.

This is not all because the documents also claim that Pitt has attempted to "give half the value of Château Miraval's most valuable assets to his friend and business partner for free." In addition, the investment company claims that Pitt was "outraged that Jolie sold to Nouvel and Stoli instead of him, Pitt has acted like a petulant child, refusing to treat Nouvel as an equal partner in the business," they add in the document. However, Nouvel's filing claims that Jolie "offered to sell her share to Pitt and that she negotiated with him for months."

She adds that "Jolie allegedly granted veto rights over a Nouvel sale that does not appear anywhere in her written agreements or communications. It was initiated by Pitt, not Nouvel."

Château Miraval was the family home of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt until 2016 when Pitt terrorized his wife and children in a drunken state while they were on their way to Hollywood. Furthermore, as the documents read, "Pitt developed recognized alcohol abuse problems. In 2016 the Pitt family had a conflict while traveling by plane from France to California, after which Jolie filed for divorce and sold her share in 2021."
