“Every time this comes up, I always feel so bad for Scarlett Johansson. Things get mixed up all the time. God knows how many times I have been the fourth or fifth choice for something,” she explained years ago during an interview with Variety. At her insistence, she revealed why she was not part of Match Point.
“It was Woody Allen who offered it to me, so I said yes. And very quickly, I realized that he couldn't do that. My son Joe was only 9 weeks old. He would have had to stop breastfeeding. It would have been too much of a commitment to the pace of my life and my new baby. I just couldn't do it. I told him: 'I'm very sorry, it was not the right decision.' I knew there was a big chance that it could be my only attempt,” he explained.
