Her comeback aimed not only to announce her upcoming book, 'Making a Scene,' but also to elucidate the reasons behind her prolonged absence from Twitter.
In 2019, Constance Wu became embroiled in a controversy related to the TV series "Newcomers," in which she was a part. The ensuing maelstrom kept the Asian-American actress away from social media until now.
The controversy erupted when the ABC network announced the renewal of the series for another season, and Constance publicly expressed her displeasure with this decision. Her frustration stemmed from the fact that her contract bound her to the family sitcom, thereby forcing her to decline other more captivating projects. She emphasized, "I came to realize the paramount importance of reaching out and extending care to individuals grappling with difficult times."
