Jennifer Aniston recently admitted that she seriously considered stepping away from Hollywood and retiring from acting.
During a podcast, she revealed that this thought crossed her mind two years ago when she found herself entangled in "an unfinished project."
Aniston disclosed that she had never experienced such feelings before, but the contemplation of retirement arose after completing a particular job.
Although she didn't specify the project in question, she did express, "It was after a job that I finished, and I thought, 'Wow, that was it; it consumed my life. I'm not sure if this is what truly interests me," the 51-year-old actress remarked.
Notably, her Emmy-nominated and SAG Actors Award-winning performance in the series 'The Morning Show' followed this period of reflection. Although Aniston didn't clarify what prompted her to question her continued involvement in show business, she admitted that at that juncture, she had an alternative plan in place: a career in interior design, a field she is passionate about.
She explained, "I love it. It's my happy place, a source of immense joy." Nonetheless, she abandoned this notion when new acting opportunities beckoned. Aniston acknowledged her desire to explore directing further since, apart from a few short films, she has limited experience in this domain. "Sitting in that director's chair," she admitted, "is something I genuinely enjoy."
Furthermore, she underscored that it's "obvious" that the most significant project of her life was her role as Rachel in the iconic series 'Friends,' which catapulted her to stardom.
