Natalie Portman's Unique Approach to 'Star Wars' Movies for Her Son

Portraying Queen Amidala, she played a pivotal role in the three prequel episodes created by George Lucas before the franchise was acquired by Disney and expanded with numerous films and spin-offs. However, despite her pride in the role, Portman has a surprising revelation when it comes to her own family.

In a candid interview with host Jimmy Kimmel, the actress admitted that she has never shown her son the three 'Star Wars' films in which she starred. Despite having a strong desire to share her experiences with her children, she has not fulfilled this particular wish. Portman confessed, "When I made them, I thought, 'This is going to be so cool, and one day, when I have kids, I'll be able to show it to them.'"

But her decision not to screen the movies for her son, despite his obvious enthusiasm for 'Star Wars', is rooted in a simple and poignant reason: the actress's roles involve her characters meeting their demise. As Portman explained, "I realized that I die in the movies, and I feel like it's a little inappropriate to teach your child."

At just 5 years old, her son, Aleph, may find it challenging to comprehend the distinction between fiction and reality, especially when witnessing his mother's character meeting an on-screen demise. However, as Aleph matures and develops the ability to discern between make-believe and the real world, he will undoubtedly have the privilege of enjoying the entire 'Star Wars' saga alongside his mother, complete with her firsthand insights and anecdotes.
