Bill Skarsgard looks nothing like his Pennywise the clown character, whom he plays in the "It" movies.

The 29-year-old Swedish actor made his debut as Pennywise in the 2017 horror film It, based on a novel by Stephen King.

"It was an incredible, terrifying feeling when I looked in the mirror and saw myself in character for the first time," Skarsgard told Us Weekly in 2017.

"Until that moment, I didn't know what the specific aesthetic of the character would be like," he continued. "So every step of the way, I was looking in the mirror, grimacing to try to figure out what the end result would be."

The child stars of It didn't even see Skarsgard in costume until filming the protector scene, so when the clown appeared, the terrified reactions were genuine. Skarsgard also made some children cry on set.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Skarsgard added that he has a lazy eye, which allowed him to move it in another direction.

As for Pennywise's horrible smile, the actor told Conan O'Brien that he learned to twist his lips in a "strange way" after watching his older brother, Gustav Skarsgard, do it.

Jennifer Lawrence initially took around 8 hours each day to transform into the character Mystique in the movie "X-Men."

The actress explained on NBC's The Jimmy Fallon Show in 2014 that little by little the time was reduced and in the end she was ready in 3 hours.

The actress used to stand or sit on a bicycle to be painted.

For X-Men: First Class, Lawrence covered herself in body paint from head to toe, resulting in "strange boils, rashes, and blisters."

To avoid skin irritation for the next X-Men sequels, Lawrence ended up wearing a suit from the neck down.

Paul Bettany often has a hard time hearing well in the Vision costume he has worn for several Marvel movies.

Bettany claimed that in one of the Marvel movies he initially painted his face and then put a rubber balaclava over his head.

He also wore a "robot muscle suit" equipped with tubes that run ice water to keep his body cool.

"It's pretty painful and uncomfortable," Bettany confirmed to USA Today in 2015.

Elizabeth Banks wore elaborate wigs, makeup and outfits for her role as Effie Trinket in the "Hunger Games" movies that she found annoying.

Many fans' favorite character from this "saga" underwent a makeover near the end of the franchise. But before that, she was introduced to him as an advisor to District 12 with an affinity for luxury goods.

Banks told MTV that it took her 2 hours to dress up in all the parts of the costume. Banks also indicated that the long false nails were the part of the outfit that caused her the most problems, since once they were on, she was not able to use her cell phone, use a computer or go to the bathroom. The actress also said that the more luxurious outfits were "very restrictive" and didn't allow for much movement.

In People magazine, she stated that she also found it very difficult to resist the urge to touch her face when she was fully made up. It also took her a while to get used to the elaborate details of her eyelashes.

The actress has explained that at some point, during her characterization and transformation, she would spend her time taking a nap.

"I find it very relaxing when people touch my face and my hair," she said. "I also spent time reading, chatting, and hanging out with other cast members. Since I was there longer, I usually got to see everyone arrive."
