1. American History X
Tonye Kaye directed this film, in which she portrayed the adventures of various white supremacist groups in the United States.
The harshness of the story means that the film has numerous moments that are difficult to watch. However, there is one scene that makes your hair stand on end due to its cruelty. It is about the moment in which Derek Vinyard, played by Edward Norton, forces a black man to kneel on the sidewalk and bite the curb while he points a gun at him. It is at that moment, when Derek steps on the head of his victim.
2.'Seven'
The final scene of 'Seven' is one of the most remembered in the history of cinema because of how hard and transcendent it is. Brad Pitt shoots Kevin Spacey, in the presence of Morgan Freeman, after he confesses that he has killed his wife. The scene is preceded by the appearance of a box from which a head protrudes. With this ending, the seventh of the sins that the film pursues is revealed, envy.
3.'A Clockwork Orange'
Another film that is difficult to watch due to its violent scenes is 'A Clockwork Orange', directed by Stanley Kubrick. Specifically, the images of the attack by the ultraviolent gang, the protagonist of the film, on a family home are striking due to their sound and aggressiveness. The assailants beat and humiliate a couple, while the mythical 'Singing in the rain' plays in the background.
4.'The Passion of Christ'
Mel Gibson directed this film in 2004. In it, of indisputable veracity, the last hours of the life of Jesus Christ are narrated. The moment of flagellation is one of the harshest that has ever been seen on the big screen.
5.'Life is beautiful'
This film is chilling for the way it tells some of the harshest episodes of the genocide against the Jewish people in Hitler's Germany. The end of it left its viewers breathless. Guido, the film's protagonist, is paraded before a Nazi guard under the watchful eye of his son from a prisoner truck. Despite being about to die, Guido adds a touch of humor to the moment so that his son does not realize the harshness of the situation.
