One day, Cary Grant met Rock Hudson at the gas station I used as a base. I charged him $20 to hook up with Rock, and they met several times. This was Bowers' life: he charged the most famous celluloid stars to introduce them to each other and maintain relationships, sometimes he charged to sleep with the actors and actresses of the moment himself.
