Emma Watson Opens Up About Singleness and Facing Anxiety Ahead of 30

In an interview with British Vogue, the actress revealed that she has encountered stress and anxiety as her 30th birthday, slated for April 15, approaches.

Contrary to societal norms dictating achievements like marriage, having a home, or starting a family by a certain age, Watson expressed that these expectations can create significant anxiety for individuals who have not met these milestones.

She emphasized the societal pressure surrounding turning 30, stating, "It just creates a lot of anxiety if you haven't built a home yet, gotten married, don't have a baby, or are still figuring things out on your own."

Despite rumors circulating about her romantic relationships, including speculations about her connection with actor Tom Felton and recent photographs showing her with an unidentified man, Watson clarified her current status. Addressing the topic of her relationship status, she affirmed that she is currently single and content with it. The actress revealed, "I have to be honest and admit that I was never totally convinced of the speech she gave: 'I'm happy being single.' I was convinced that that wasn't true, but that was because it took me time to understand it."

Watson highlighted her newfound appreciation for being single, emphasizing that she genuinely enjoys being her own partner on her life journey. The actress also discussed her upcoming movie, Little Women, in which she plays the character Meg. The film, set to be released on December 27, features a star-studded cast, including Meryl Streep, Laura Dern, and Saoirse Ronan.

Little Women, based on the classic novel by Louisa May Alcott, follows the March sisters on a transformative journey during the American Civil War. The narrative explores themes of love, family bonds, and relationships, promising another showcase of Watson's talent alongside her distinguished filmography in productions such as The Beauty and The Beast, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Regression, The Bling Ring, and Noah. The full interview with Emma Watson will be available in the November 8 issue of British Vogue.
