In early September, actress Kate Beckinsale found herself hospitalized due to an unexpected domestic accident that led to a severe back injury.
Putting an end to various speculations surrounding the incident, Beckinsale opened up about the truth behind her hospitalization during a conversation with James Corden on The Late Late Show With James Corden.
Despite her extensive experience in action movies, Beckinsale humorously shared that the injury occurred while she was simply putting on a pair of leggings in her Las Vegas hotel room.
Addressing the common assumption that the injury might be related to a daring stunt, she clarified, "I was in an intense, emotional drama, not running through walls or anything like that."
Describing the peculiar moment, Beckinsale explained, "I felt like a guitar string hit me hard, it was all very horrible. A pain worse than having a baby, that strong." The actress detailed the extent of her discomfort, expressing how she couldn't walk, lie down, or sit up. Stranded in her hotel room, she had to call for assistance and eventually received help from an ambulance.
Recalling the incident with a touch of humor, Beckinsale mentioned how she was wrapped "like a sausage" on a stretcher as the doctors attended to her. Despite the initial challenges, she assured everyone that she is now fine. After the pain subsided, Beckinsale shared a photo from the hospital on social media, expressing gratitude for the concern from her followers and confirming her improving condition.
The actress was in Las Vegas working on her upcoming film, "Prisoner's Daughter," which revolves around a man reconnecting with his daughter and grandson after spending ten years in prison. Alongside Brian Cox, Tyler Ritter, and Ernie Hudson, Beckinsale navigated her routine in the city, documenting moments on social media, from mandatory COVID tests to leisure breaks at the hotel and occasional outings with friends and colleagues.
