Priyanka Chopra, despite sharing a beautiful love story with Nick Jonas, candidly acknowledges that not everything in her marital life is picture-perfect.
The actress humorously dubs herself a "terrible wife" for a rather unconventional reason—her lack of culinary skills.
During an appearance on The View, Chopra revealed, "I don't know how to cook, and I made that clear when he asked me to marry him. I was blunt: 'Listen, you come from a traditional southern family, used to your mom cooking wonderful things for you. With me, you're not going to receive that treatment. I just don't know; I can make eggs from time to time, but nothing more.'
Despite her admission, Chopra is relieved that Jonas hasn't displayed any disappointment and, importantly, hasn't revealed any traditional or stereotypical expectations. In fact, Jonas responded by admitting his own lack of culinary expertise, creating a refreshing and understanding dynamic in their relationship.
"In that sense, I am a terrible wife, but what I appreciate most is his response when I confessed my lack of cooking skills. I hoped it didn't bother him too much, and he replied, 'Honey, it's okay, I don't know how to cook either.' It's not the typical response you expect; he comforted me and embraced our shared imperfections," she shared.
The couple, who tied the knot in December 2018 in India after a four-month engagement, continues to navigate their marital journey with humor and acceptance. Their wedding festivities, held at the Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, spanned over three days, marking the beginning of their unconventional yet charming marital adventure.
