The renowned Hollywood actress had previously expressed her desire to keep her children away from the film industry, but circumstances led to an exception.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, once one of Hollywood's most prominent couples, were together for 12 years, during which they became parents to six children—three through adoption and three biological. Despite their separation in recent years, their children have entered their teenage years with diverse aspirations. Some are pursuing higher education, while others are gaining recognition in the public eye.
Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, one of Jolie and Pitt's daughters, has garnered attention for her talent in dancing to urban music. Similarly, the youngest of the siblings, Vivienne, made her mark on the big screen by portraying little Aurora in the film Maleficent.
The fact that Angelina Jolie's daughter took on the role of Aurora was not a mere coincidence. Although Jolie had initially hesitated about her children entering the acting world, an exception was made for Vivienne.
Jolie herself revealed the reason behind Vivienne's casting as Aurora. "This happened because there were children who came to the filming and saw me. I went up to greet them, and they cried. One child was completely paralyzed, and then he started crying, and I felt very bad," she explained.
Realizing the challenge of finding a 4 or 5-year-old girl who could convincingly face a character like Maleficent without fear, Jolie made the unconventional decision. "We realized that there was no way to find a 4 or 5-year-old girl that she could be tough with, and that she wouldn't see me as a monster," Jolie added.
The choice of a five-year-old who wouldn't be frightened by the appearance of a witch was crucial to the success of the filming. "Vivienne seemed like little Aurora. Everyone thought the answer was there, but I had to go home and talk to dad because she is our girl," the actress concluded.
