Jennifer Aniston has referred in an interview to "those people who become famous for basically nothing", including Monica Lewinsky, and she has reacted by liking a tweet that criticizes the actress.

Jennifer Aniston calls Monica Lewinsky 'famous for nothing' and this has been her reaction

Monica Lewinsky's name was much talked about in the 90s following an affair she had with the then president of the United States Bill Clinton, while she was an intern at the White House at the age of 22. And now Monica Lewinsky has been in the news again for some statements by Jennifer Aniston that involve her.

The 'Friends' actress sat down to chat with Sebastian Stan ('Gossip Girl') in an interview between the two organized by Variety. In it they have commented on what her profession is like today, how there are other ways to achieve fame that limit acting.

Aniston mentions at the meeting celebrities like Paris Hilton or Monica Lewinsky, encouraged by Internet culture: "The moment when the Internet shaped a new culture about people who become famous for nothing. Paris Hilton, Monica Lewinsky, all they..."

"Now you are famous for TikTok, for YouTube, for Instagram, it is as if our work is diluted. I feel lucky to have been able to taste a little of what the industry was like before this," the actress stated.

These criticisms have in turn earned her many others, especially on social networks, and especially on Twitter, where she has been called a "baby of nepotism", in reference to her parents, who were also dedicated to acting.

"Wait, Jennifer Aniston said that Monica Lewinsky is famous for doing nothing? Lewinsky was the prey of her boss, who was literally the President. She has already talked about how the media coverage affected her, she didn't want to be famous," a user said.

But perhaps the most popular comment was not because of her content, but because Monica Lewinsky herself, to whom Aniston alluded in her statements, liked it.

The tweet from user ernestwell, whose account has been deleted, read: "Even Beyonce, Mrs. Female Empowerment (which I adore) has used Lewinsky in a song to refer to her for... something. It's very hypocritical that there is women preaching female empowerment at the expense of using others' pasts.
