Forbes released its yearly roster of actors whose films have underperformed at the box office but have still earned substantial paychecks.
According to Forbes, Depp generated $2.80 for every dollar he was paid for his last three films, signifying an increase from the previous year when studios made $1.20 for every dollar they spent on him.
The list, which considers an actor's last three films before June 2016 (excluding cameos, animated films, and those released in fewer than 2,000 theaters), includes other notable figures such as Will Smith, Channing Tatum, Will Ferrell, and George Clooney. Julia Roberts is the sole woman to secure a spot in the top 10.
Despite this financial setback, Depp is set to return to the silver screen next year as the iconic Jack Sparrow in "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales," scheduled for release on May 26, 2017.
