Thomas Markle goes to the press again, and this time he says that it is ridiculous that he has not seen her daughter in four years and that she does not let him see her grandchildren Archie and Lilibet.
Thomas Markle, father of Meghan Markle and with whom he has a tense relationship, asked her daughter, through a television interview, to let him see her grandchildren, while accusing her of only worrying about him.
"We are at a point where I think we should both mature, talk, reconcile for the good of the children," he said in reference to his grandson Archie, born in 2019, and his granddaughter Lilibet, who was born last June, interviewed from his home in Mexico on the British channel ITV.
Retired Hollywood lighting director, Markle, 77, has not had contact with her daughter since she married Prince Harry, grandson of Queen Elizabeth II, in May 2018, and has not met the children.
"It's absurd, nearly four years without seeing them, it's unbelievable. Their great-grandmother is the queen of England, and I believe it's crucial for them to be aware that they have two families. As they grow up, they will inevitably want to learn more about them," he remarked.
Despite expressing his desire to reconnect with his grandchildren, Thomas Markle did not shy away from criticizing his daughter, known for her role in the television series Suits. Markle asserted that Meghan wanted him to cease communication with her other children from a second marriage. "I couldn't comply," he stated. "She had never been like that. However, once she became involved with Harry, she changed."
Markle had separated from Doria Ragland, Meghan's mother, when Meghan was a child. Ragland attended Meghan's wedding at Windsor Castle and even had tea with Queen Elizabeth II. Nevertheless, Meghan cut off all contact with her father. He did not attend the wedding, citing health reasons, after a controversial photo shoot with paparazzi in Mexico, which was deemed embarrassing to the British royal family.
