The American influencer and businesswoman announced through her company Media that she will withdraw her sponsorship of X, formerly known as Twitter, following the controversy generated by the alleged exposure of brand advertising accompanied by pro-Nazi and anti-Semitic messages on the social network.

Like other companies, which had already filed this claim, Hilton abandons its advertising investment in X, the application run by South African tycoon Elon Musk, together with CEO Linda Yaccarino.

In this way, the businesswoman's decision was not limited to the simple withdrawal of the investment she had made in the application in order to promote her brands, but she also had agreements with X to generate audio-visual content, such as video and live commerce, among other tools that are still in the development phase within the platform.

In any case, the influencer is still active on her X social network, where she has more than 16.6 million followers, but the company's image was damaged. And the withdrawal of 11:11 Media's investment follows a context where six relevant brands have also decided to pause advertising expenses allocated to X during the last week, after receiving reports of the presentation of pro content -Nazi and anti-Semitic conspiracies promoted in the app.

Other large companies that had already withdrawn their ads were IBM, Disney and Paramount, which raised alarm bells after the Media Matter organization published a report pointing out the presence of publications with inappropriate or harmful content within the platform. However, none of the companies mentioned their withdrawal publicly, nor did they explain the reasons to their consumers.

The name of Media is added to the list of companies that remain in an aura of unknowns regarding relations with several criticisms surrounding his base phrase of “yes to freedom of expression, no to freedom of scope.” IN this sense, faced with the anger that the company had received from its users due to the presence of uncomfortable or inappropriate content, the company had decided to limit interactions with those materials that it considers harmful, although not eliminate them.
