During the film's promotional events, Priscilla Presley, who approved of the movie but did not receive a similar endorsement from Elvis Presley's daughter Lisa Marie, spoke openly at the South Point Casino in Las Vegas.
Among various topics, she disclosed the reason behind her steadfast choice not to remarry following her divorce from Elvis, a decision she made while he was still alive.
Priscilla and Elvis Presley exchanged vows in 1967 and divorced in 1973. The artist passed away four years later. Reflecting on her post-divorce life, Priscilla confessed, "To be honest, I never wanted to get married after him. I never had any desire." She explained that, in her view, no one could measure up to Elvis, and she doubted he could have tolerated it. Despite a nearly two-decade relationship with director Marco Garibaldi, with whom she had a son, Priscilla never pursued remarriage.
The couple first met in 1959 in Germany, where Elvis was stationed during military service. At 24, he encountered the 14-year-old Priscilla, who revealed, "Something about his Southern upbringing had taught him that he had to find the ‘right’ girl to marry. I was that girl, and he transformed me into his wife. I wore the clothes, hair, and makeup that he carefully chose."
Priscilla also disclosed Elvis's desire to have only one child, explaining, "Elvis had a very busy schedule, and he felt a little guilty for not being more present when Lisa was little." She clarified that due to his hectic schedule and tours, he believed he wasn't present enough to have more children.
Actress Cailee Spaeny portrays Priscilla Presley in Sofia Coppola's film, and Priscilla herself has expressed satisfaction with the director's portrayal, acknowledging the significant effort put into 'Priscilla.'
